Harvest Wind

Recently I purchased two cds from the bluegrass gospel group Harvest Wind. They are The Traveler and Ancient of Days.  This has to be the best bluegrass gospel I have ever heard. The band, located in the Statesville, NC area, has a mountain soul type of sound. Revonda Roberts, fiddle player, songwriter and lead vocals, has a voice as sweet as the mountain dew. Revonda's husband, Lonnie, does a great job on the mando and harmony vocals.17 yr old Justin Bowles, banjo and guitar, is one of the best pickers in bluegrass IMO. Robert McIntosh on bass brings many years of experience with him to compliment the band. Brad Wood joined the band after the recordings and plays guitar.  Together they are one of the tightest bluegrass bands today. I can not stress enough how much I love these cds. I played them today in the car while on a Sunday drive in the country and the lyrics and music just amaze me every time. http://www.tripplecreek.com/HarWinBan/
