Howdy, Roger! It is difficult for me to believe an idea has actually blossomed within the confines of this here cranium, but, how about a topic for Bluegrass Jams? Thanks for using your fantastic efforts with the WWB, Roger!! You are doing wonderful things!!! Eric-OR

Roger, I don't know if anyone else has tried to use the private message feature on here or not, but in my attempts it is either not working, or it is not notifying the recipient they have new messages, or it is working and people are just not checking them. Is there any way we can get a notification of new private messages when they come in? It's just something I've seen on other forums. Thanks, Hoss.

Folks who like this music might also enjoy dancing to it. Contra dancing is lieks square dancing but done in lines or circles and is closer than contemmporary square dancing to some of the older styles of colonial dancing in the southern states.  Modern square dancing has a couple of branches. There is the western style that most people automatically think of with the costumes and square people. There is also an old time squares style that attracts more "average", regular folks, and has tried to preserve old time style with simpler figures and music. I have encountered it in Bloomfield Indidana, and North CArolina, and Protland, Oregon. Contras likewise attract your average folk. They are done to Old time music or New England style folk music, but the dance compositions are similar across the country. A dance is really easy to find> Just type in your town and "contra dance". Or "square dance"

Hope this helps.

The private message feature does work but unless a user elects to be notified by email that they have a message waiting then they will have to log in and actually look for it. Once a person sees the notification a couple times it pretty much easy.

I've sent and receieved several, the folks are probably not looking for them would be my guess at this point.

I think it would be good if we had a sub forum to introduce ourselves to the board.
