It is not readily widely know that Journalist Daniel Pearl who was slain by terrorist in Pakistan was a fan of Bluegrass music and would would join in when ever he came across a jam. So it is appropriate that these two young Canadian fiddlers John and James Abrams where the 2006-2007 recipients of the Daniel Pearl Memorial Violin Award, awarded by Mark O'Connor on behalf of the Daniel Pearl Foundation.
