Hi yall from Palmetto Fl

Hi yall, I'm a newbie here from Palmetto Fl.( Ga. orginally) I found this site and love it. I love Bluegrass and go to festivals as often as I can. I'm 58 and took up playing a guitar about 6 months ago. A little late starting but I sure do love it. I have a song I have searched high and low for and can't find the words or lyrics. Maybe somebody out there can help me. It's call "Thirty Years Of Farming" by James King. I really like that song and want to learn to play it. I can only find 30 sec. clips of the song. Another is " Two dollar Problem in a Four Dollar fight".I know the bluegrass family is one great bunch of folks to be around and I look forward to talkin with yall.

Hi Geewilly!

From one newbie to another, WELCOME! I don't get to check in very often, but thought I'd say hey and welcome aboard. Everyone here seems really nice and I hope more people will get involved with the WWB. Being in a working band, this is the kind of grass roots stuff we need to keep our (all of our) bluegrass going. So whenever I can, I'd like to stop in and help "stir the pot".

Where is Palmetto, FL? We live in Mobile (guitar player is from Pensacola area).

Anyhow, gotta run, tell all your friends to put WWB on their favorites and get the message board and chat room hoppin. I tell folks about the WWB in our band newsletter and have a link on our websites. I know all the DJ's could use words of encouragement and let 'em know we're listening, because it definitely is a labor of love. We can all help...and that's my two cents...aww
take care and keep on pickin'!

Hi and Thanks for the welcome. Palmetto is on the south side of Tampa bay. Tampa is on the north side. I'm going to a bluegrass jam session tonight. It's a bunch of local guys( about 17) who get together and play about twice a month. I'll just be listening and hopefully learning from these guys. They are good and have all the instruments of bluegrass. They don't allow any electrical instruments and I like that. I hope to be good enough to play with these guys one day. Right now, they are way above my level. Anyway, thanks again and i'll be checking in soon. Happy pickin'.
