Went to the Wimberly Jam the other week and had a tough time finding it. The owner of Charlie's Catfish had retired and leased out the restaraunt to someone else. It's now called Red Rooster and instead of Catfish, they serve hamburgers.
Too, the jam is not in the restraunt but in a leanto shack up in back of the restraunt about 20 yards behind the restraunt. WHoo! The wind was something special too, chilly and nearly blew me out. But the playing and singing weren't bad when the wind would let you hear it. Also to keep warm, they were burning mesquite or cedar splits which burned your eyes and nose. In spite of the adverse weather the crowd kept growing even while we were leaving.
When the weather warms up a bit, I'll return and update you on the place.
